When your child attends our Children's Church, directed by Dr. Tiffany Manuel, the first question she asks is, "Do you know that you are wonderful?" The "Yes" responses are followed by enthusiastic high-fives.
Hands are held and each child is asked to offer something (anything) that they are grateful for. This is followed by more enthusiastic shouts of THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU GOD!
It gets even better. One song the children sing (with movement) is I Am A Promise. The words are:
I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
Cause I'm a promise to be everything God wants me to be.
During the "Celebration Circle", the children are read a story from the "Children's Bible" to coincide with the Sunday sermon the adults are hearing. In an animated fashion, the story is discussed and a Unity principle is taught.
All of the children are encouraged to learn about tithing, and each parent or caretaker is encouraged to give their child something to put in the offering.
The children come upstairs to join with the rest of the church for the closing activities. |
